Fushun Petrochemical Company

Fushun Petrochemical is the "cradle" of my country's oil refining industry. It is a large-scale, integrated petrochemical complex—encompassing oil refining, chemicals, chemical fibers, plastics, detergents, and wax production—with an 80-year history and a significant position and influence within China's petroleum and petrochemical sectors. The company has achieved numerous scientific breakthroughs that filled domestic gaps and has trained and dispatched over 20,000 professionals across the country; indeed, Fushun Petrochemical personnel can be found wherever there is an oil refinery in mainland my country. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the company has processed a cumulative total of 324 million tons of crude oil and generated 43.5 billion yuan in taxes and profits. Products from Fushun Petrochemical were utilized in landmark events such as the launch of China's first artificial satellite, the first scientific expedition to Antarctica, and the grand military parade marking the 50th anniversary of the People's Republic.

The company currently has a workforce of 22,766 regular employees (with an average age of 40.2 years; 39.4 years for those currently on duty) and 11,293 employees in its collective enterprises. Its organizational structure comprises 11 production units, a fire-fighting detachment, a development company, a mining area service division, and a collective enterprise group (consisting of 13 collective enterprises). The company holds total assets of 20.9 billion yuan, maintains an asset-liability ratio of 35%, and generates sales revenue of nearly 50 billion yuan.

The company possesses a crude oil processing capacity of 10 million tons per year for both primary and secondary processing and operates 77 major production units. Its annual output exceeds 6 million tons of gasoline, kerosene, and diesel, along with 700,000 tons of wax products (comprising 300,000 tons of light wax and 600,000 tons of paraffin wax). Its chemical production capacity stands at 1.84 million tons per year. The company produces over 160 grades of petrochemical products that are sold nationwide and exported to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide. Its product qualification rate consistently remains at 100%. Its paraffin wax exports account for 35% of the national total, and the product has earned "inspection-free" status from US inspection agencies and others; meanwhile, its alkylbenzene holds a domestic market share of over 50%. The company stands as a unique, world-class production base for paraffin wax and alkylbenzene. During the "11th Five-Year Plan" period, the company will adhere to the Scientific Outlook on Development. Guided by the Group's overall development strategy and the principle of "refining with excellence and distinction, and chemicals with strength and specialization," the company strives to build a world-class refining and chemical production base—featuring a large-scale yet distinctive refining sector and a specialized, large-scale chemical sector—characterized by advanced technology, unique strengths, and strong competitiveness. The goal is to establish an integrated "large-scale refining, large-scale chemicals, and large-scale industrial park" operational model, build a "centennial enterprise" with a global brand, and achieve sound and rapid development for Fushun Petrochemical. By the end of the "11th Five-Year Plan" period, the company aims to complete the "1145" Project: achieving an annual refining capacity of 11.5 million tons and an ethylene capacity of 1 million tons; establishing four major petrochemical feedstock production bases (1 million tons/year of wax, 500,000 tons/year of lubricant base oil, 350,000 tons/year of surfactant feedstock, and 1.4 million tons/year of synthetic resin); and increasing sales revenue by 50 billion yuan to reach a total of 100 billion yuan, with combined profits and taxes totaling 8.5 billion yuan.
