PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical Company is a large‑scale refining‑chemical integrated branch under PetroChina Company Limited (CNPC Group), located in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, Northeast China. Tracing its origin back to a refinery constructed in 1928, the enterprise is widely known as "the cradle of China’s petroleum refining industry". After multiple rounds of restructuring and capacity expansion, it completed the “10‑million‑ton refinery, 1‑million‑ton ethylene” key national project in 2012, forming comprehensive crude oil processing capacity of 11.5 million tons per year and chemical production capacity of 1.84 million tons per year, operating more than 70 main production units. It holds global‑leading industrial status: the world’s largest production and export base for paraffin wax, Asia’s dominant manufacturing base for linear alkyl benzene (LAB, surfactant raw material), as well as China’s core production site for precious‑metal catalysts.
The company runs a complete "oil‑refining‑chemical‑plastic‑detergent‑wax‑agent" industrial chain, manufacturing over 300 grades of petrochemical products under the "Kunlun brand". Its product portfolio covers refined oil products including gasoline, jet fuel and diesel; polyolefin materials such as PP, HDPE and LLDPE; SBR synthetic rubber; full‑range paraffin series (semi‑refined paraffin wax, fully‑refined paraffin wax, crude paraffin wax); microcrystalline wax, linear alkyl benzene and lubricant base oils. Thanks to the key Oil‑Wax Co‑Production project, Fushun Petrochemical achieved domestic localization of high‑grade microcrystalline wax, and has become China’s only manufacturer capable of supplying full‑series paraffin, mixed‑crystal wax and microcrystalline wax products. Major wax products have obtained FDA and REACH certification, with paraffin exports accounting for around 35 % of China’s total wax export volume, and goods are shipped to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide. As a branch production entity without independent import‑export qualification, its overseas export business is uniformly handled by PetroChina International Co., Ltd.
In terms of technology, quality and operational governance, PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical Company sticks to strict whole‑process quality control, maintaining 100 % finished‑product acceptance rate for core commodities. In recent years, it has completed carbon‑footprint calculation for microcrystalline wax and linear alkyl benzene, supporting green‑product compliance for international trade. The enterprise implements full‑set HSE management systems, carries out energy‑saving technical retrofits, waste‑water recycling and VOCs emission treatment, and strictly controls discharge of three‑phase waste throughout manufacturing and maintenance cycles to advance low‑carbon transformation.
